Detroit on Thursday became the largest American city to file for bankruptcy, a historic move sure to ignite complex battles in coming months with creditors, pensioners and unions who stand to lose significantly as the state tries to rescue a city whose failure Gov. Rick Snyder said was 60 years in the making. Bankruptcy and restructuring experts said the filing will initiate a new round of battles in federal court, potentially setting national precedents on matters ranging from whether bondholders get repaid when cities run out of money to whether public pensions, previously thought to be sacrosanct under the Michigan Constitution, are protected in municipal bankruptcies. Financially troubled cities around the nation will be watching what happens in the Motor City for lessons that could apply to them. In the end, state-appointed emergency manager Kevyn Orr’s attempt to reach out-of-court settlements could not overcome opposition from unions, retirees and a long list of lenders to whom the city owes as much as $20 billion. “There’s some real benchmark laws that could be set here,” said Jim McTevia, a leading turnaround management expert in Bingham Farms. “There are going to be a number of issues that a normal bankruptcy doesn’t cover.” More

I wonder when the folks will realize that the unions and the corps are on the same team?....I worked in retail for many years and one of my jobs as a store director was to get the "bag" to the unions reps on the first friday of every month......America has no one to blame but itself....The sheeples are beyond ignorant.....

Good to hear Marty. So many people are making progress against the bankers. Something that may help is to also ask for the 1099 to show the interest income they have received off off their "loan" As with the "wet ink" copy of your mortgage, it doesnt exist. If you dont mind, Keep me posted as to the proceedings.

Well here it is Tues. (1 week from hearing) and still NO decision or ruling from the court... :headscratching

The court knows the truth Marty. It has to decide if its going to bite the hand that feeds them or not....It seems that courts are in fear that the American public is waking up.....hopefully, your court is in total FEAR!

I know how tough it must be not knowing if your are going to be able to stay in your home or not...From what ive read from your posts, your in good shape and the courts have their hands full with you....

I got word that here in McHenry County.... the judge that handles these cases is just extending all foreclosures at this time. I was told that the attorneys for the banks are standing there with their mouths open catching flies as she reads the extension info. LOL 
What it means I do not know. But it seems like the courts have been told to stall.....

And that they may have been told purps. They are guilty of FRAUD. Its not a question if they are or not. And the courts know this.
