11 Major Earthquakes in the month of June 2015 and the staggering paradox of large quakes since 1900

An average count with 11 Major Earthquakes in the month of June 2015.
It's been an  average year so far for major quakes in 2015 with a total of 73 for the year up to July the first.
2013 had 70 major quakes at the same period finishing that year with 140 mag 6+ quakes.
2014 had a much higher count with 91 and finishing the year on 156.
All the above stats pail into insignificance compared to 2011, that year finished on a colossal 205 major quakes, which is the most ever recorded in a single year, with many of these recorded in northern Japan, 2007 ran a close second with an impressive 196 and had the most ever mag 8+ quakes in one year with 4.
Major quakes have risen sharply since 1900, that year only 22 major quakes were recorded.
1910 recorded 48, 1920 recorded only 18 which remains equal lowest with 1903, 1930 recorded 23....1940 recorded 43, 1950 recorded 63, in 1960 55 was recorded, in 1970 the trend is a sharp rise with 103 recorded major quakes, 1980 119, 1990 127 major quakes recorded, another sharp rise in the year 2000 with 173 major quakes and finally 2010 with 174.
One astounding fact remains since 1900 major quakes measuring a mag 6-6.9 have risen by a staggering 450% while major quakes higher than mag 6.9 have remained stable.

Mag 6-6.9 earthquakes have risen by over 450% since 1900  But anything bigger has remained stable?

"Earthquakes in diverse places." The truly amazing earthquake paradox of the last 114 years.
