This is a clip from a 2014 French documentary. The scientist has tested the falling webs, and found:
1) They are artificial;
2) They are Phthalate plastic (now banned in the USA);
3) They come from aircraft;
4) They are an industrial product, and contain the same materials which are added to aircraft fuels;
5) They are endocrine disruptors, which cause illnesses, like obesity.

I have a suggestion to anyone who has samples of these chemwebs – do a melting point test.
By measuring the melting point, we can verify they are a carbon based polymer, and not a mineral fiber. Also if it melts, instead of burning, that would prove it is a polymer, instead of a protein, like natural spider silk.
