Amazing line-up of Mercury, Venus and Mars. The three planets are visible above the sunset horizon all month long.
On December 10, when the sun goes down step outside and look for Venus and Mercury gracing the southwest sky.
On December 12, look for the bright orange star Aldebaran extremely close to the nearly full Moon.
Jupiter rises into the southeastern sky well before the Sun appears. Aim a telescope at the giant planet to spy its dark cloud bands and a few of its moons.
You don't need any special equipment to see the night sky show but just your eyes.
