“There are two kinds of people who never amount to much: those who cannot do what they are told, and those who can do nothing else.” Cyrus Curtis
There remains a minority among us who do not feel as guilty for the Global Crisis, who sit on the Board of these Global Corporations who are depleting the world’s natural resources, who are funding the massive push for Global Consumerism, who are regulating our Financial Institutions, our Political Institutions, and our Social Institutions who have no emotional connection to the crisis they are creating through their greed because their sole motivation is Wealth.
It often seems that it is both the Political and Corporate Elites that order their citizens to wage wars against ‘their’ enemies, yet seek shelter from the fallout so that they themselves are not directly affected by the effects of their actions.
In general, people are peace loving, kind and community conscious people. Yet, when afflicted by hardships, we make decisions to protect ourselves before looking out for our friends and neighbors.
Hardships are trials that are meant to force us to look at our mortality and our humanity, and often we fail to live up to the challenge, because we stop looking at ourselves as a collective – the community thrives when we are all directing our energies towards its upliftment, the self is a component of that greater body, equal in all its parts no matter the contribution. Yet, we take our model from the Elites, who are self-driven and self-obsessed with their own self-image and greed. They have no regard for the community, because they don’t see themselves are being a part of that collective consciousness.
To them, there are two kinds of dichotomies; those who can be exploited and those who will help me advance within the ranks.
The exploitable are disposable, invisible when unwanted or unneeded, and those who can help them advance they will insincerely cling to with the hopes of ingratiating themselves to their sympathies. But once they’ve achieved their end goals, they will dispose of those who helped them there, because they’ve become a part of the exploitable.
These are true sociopaths.
And we are enamoured by their ‘glitter,’ because they remind us of what is possible, that we can ourselves achieve is only we model ourselves off of them.
It often seems that no Great Man made it to Greatness through honesty. And behind every Great Man is a Great Woman, who is equally dishonest. They are equally propelled towards that same level of desire to achieve ‘something’ of ‘greatness’ at any cost.
And we are charmed by that glitter – because it appeals to a part of ourselves that desires for that wealth, power and acclaim.
Life breaks itself down into aggregates of possibilities, aggregates of dreams…
Those who dream bigger strive for bigger, and it works its way down into the cascades of dreams, which is our own image of what we believe is achievable for ourselves.
We all believe, on some human level, that we are all a part of the same game – that the rules are somehow made to be equal for all the players. The Global Consensus is, the world is to be exploited along with its entire resources; natural, human or otherwise.
This is called, ‘The Grand Illusion.’
