“Oh, Creator! Can monsters exist in the sight of him who alone knows how they were invented, how they invented themselves, and how they might not have invented themselves?”
Charles Baudelaire
The demons are of our own creation - we manifest them through the elements of our habits. Our Karma is the product of our habits; we revisit the core lessons of our soul so that we can learn upliftement. Tools are afforded to us so that we can learn to overcome, yet every tool has two functions.
I write a lot about trappings - aspects of our character that we unconsciously revisit as root lessons - We are born to realize our inherent natures - we are all born of the substance of divinity - we are all connected as Spirits, manifesting the cosmos with our thoughts, wants and actions.
To keep the substance of life growing and evolving, we are kept ignorant of our true natures - what better gift from the creator than that of Spiritual Freedom?
But, the Ego is a Petty Tyrant - it wants to reveal itself as being powerful and awesome... It wants to be seen and recognized.
This is the tool afforded to us to keep us locked in our Karma - so that at some point through our evolution, we are capable of seeing that thread of past actions and attachments - like a trail of breadcrumbs, it leads us back to our creator.
The more enlightened we become, the brighter that path home.
On one hand, our Demonstrations of Power lock us in the belief that we are powerful - we learn how to live in that moment over and over again, to repeat the ecstasy of our Awakening. We thrive on the attention it brings us, thus locking us in a new Karmic Rhythm. The Magician becomes addicted to the celebrity... His core aches for the stage, and the power he wields upon it...
Clarity, Knowledge, Power and Old Age... All are trappings that hold us back from our true path - they may be Sins, but they aren't 'Wrong.'
They are all Gifts.
'Nothing comes to be, except through God, the Heavenly Creator. Through his unconditional Love, all things have come to be - and all things shall come to pass, in his glory.'
The cost of stopping for one lifetime to explore the Glitter of our Magic is the loss of yet another chance to ascend to our Rightful Home - we become addicted to the body and all the experiences it affords us. The Blessed Gift becomes our Prison... Our Pride, our own Trojan Horse...
Recognizing it is our true power.
Its not easy letting go of the Glitter... But the freedom it affords us is incomprehensible... The path is to let go of the demons... Not through rejection, but through Love... Because they were always ours to begin with...
