Iraq and Kuwait signed an oil agreement

The Iraqi Oil Ministry announced that a memorandum of cooperation was signed with Kuwait’s Arrafaj Company to implement joint investment projects in the liquidation sector

Oil Minister Jabbar Ali Al-Luaibi said that the ministry’s priority is to optimize the investment of gas and the implementation of liquidation projects and petrochemicals and the development of infrastructure for the distribution of oil derivatives, during a meeting with a delegation of representatives of the company Arfaj Holding Kuwait, headed by Saud Arfaj.

The Minister said that we are keen to implement investment projects for the construction of refineries inside Iraq to increase the production capacity of oil derivatives, and to cover and meet the actual need for domestic consumption. Moreover, the ministry has ambitions and directions for the establishment of refineries abroad in cooperation with specialized international companies.

Al-Luaibi said that the ministry, through the investment projects it has put forward to compete with international companies, aspires to reach high production rates of oil products up to 2 million barrels per day during the year 2022.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the Ministry of Oil, represented by the Undersecretary for Liquidation Affairs, Fayad Hassan N’meh, signed a meeting with Al-Arfaj Company, which included the formation of a coordination committee between the two parties to exchange information on the implementation of projects in the region and the world. For the company’s invitation to the Ministry of Oil to contribute to the investment in the project to establish an oil refinery in India with petrochemical complex.

The Undersecretary for Liquidation Affairs said that the ministry has expressed its readiness to enter into investment projects in cooperation with Kuwaiti companies to enhance the volume of cooperation and relations between the two countries and open large areas of investment.

The meeting was attended by Undersecretary for Liquidation Affairs and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Gas Industry Dr. Hamed Younis and the Department of Studies and Economic Department.

Declaration of legal partnership between Iraq and Kuwait

Paying the salaries of retirees after the distribution of salaries of the Peshmerga

Finance: Inventory of 243 properties abroad to be returned to Iraq

In a press statement, the head of the committee responsible for inventorying the real estate of the foreign state, Inspector General of the Ministry of Finance Maher al-Bayati, said that "the committee commissioned by the Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi completed inventory of 243 properties belonging to the state outside Iraq from various groups in the countries of the world," noting that "The Committee recommended the need to follow the real estate of the state and registered with other fronts in coordination with the National Intelligence Service."

Al-Bayati added that "the committee also directed the need for the Ministry of Justice in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to file legal proceedings to stop the abuses of some real estate, in addition to coordination to resolve the cases established in addition to directing the state real estate to form a specialized section to prepare a database of those properties and document follow-up.

He pointed to the "follow-up of the Ministry of other properties, which was called certain fronts during the rule of the former regime."

For his part, Director of the Department of State Real Estate, Ahmad Al-Rubaie, that "the Department coordinates with the relevant authorities such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Intelligence Service to resolve this file as soon as possible, especially that the government has returned this issue among its priorities."

Global corruption index: Iraq the most corrupt in the world

Iraq came first, in the list of the global corruption index, which was published recently, and six other Arab countries ranked first in the list.

The index, published by the International Organization Transparency International, which has more than 100 branches in the world, that "Iraq came again in the first place in terms of corruption among the countries of the world, while there were six Arab countries in the list of 12 countries are the most corrupt in the world. "

"The most corrupt countries are Iraq, Venezuela, North Korea, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Libya, Sudan, Yemen, Afghanistan, Syria, southern Sudan and Somalia."

Israel dropped from 28th to 32rd place and was ranked 23rd out of 35 OECD countries in the corruption index.

Among the countries that followed Israel were Slovenia, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Spain, Georgia, Malta, South Korea, Italy, Slovakia, Croatia and Saudi Arabia, respectively.

The international corruption standard ranks 180 countries in the world, each of which has been given the title and degree of the concept of corruption in the public sector, which has been developed by 13 sources of information and 12 independent research institutes.
