The Real Reason Artificial Intelligence Terrifies the World's Greatest Minds. In a period of just 6 months for us, AI will have accumulated half a million years' worth of knowledge on top of everything we think we already know. Meaning that we will be unable to compete with them within days of them achieving the same levels of intelligence as us. In singular tasks, machines already beat us with ease at most tasks. Machines can already out any human, and calculate things that would take us years. A computer's ability to operate computationally millions of times quicker than we are able to comprehend is an insurmountable barrier to our operation alongside them. So what happens when they become aware? What happens when a Artificial Mind suddenly believes it no longer needs humans?
