Charges Dropped Against Minnesota Mom for Giving Son Cannabis Oil
By Barry Bard on April 17, 2015 Marijuana News
Last August, Angela Brown did what any parent with a severely ill child would do: she gave her 15-year-old son with brain trauma cannabis oil. But prohibition in Minnesota makes that a crime, and Brown was facing two $3,000 fines and up to a year in prison.
However, morality and cool minds prevailed as Brown’s attorney and a country prosecutor agreed to drop Brown’s (outrageous) child endangerment charge. In lieu of those lofty fines and jail time, Brown must pay a $100 court fee and go 90 days without giving her child cannabis oil.
Still, while a blessing and relief for Brown and her family, the fact that her son can’t be given cannabis oil–which greatly aids his brain trauma–remains an unexplainable crime.
Medical marijuana will be hitting Minnesota this summer, and until then, Brown and other patients must senselessly wait till the state’s medical system commences.
