This is a phone call with the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, LARA.
Michigan Caregivers and Primary Caregivers operate under the Michigan Medical Marihuana Act (MMMA). The act offers protections to qualified registered caregivers against arrest and prosecution.
On December 20, 2016 - Rick Snyder signed into law as a dictator the Michigan Medical Marihuana Facilities Act that claims people in the industry need to commercialize their businesses and obtain specific state issued licenses.
Michigan cops, sheriffs and county prosecutors are using this "Facilities Act" to find caregivers operating outside of the MMMA and therefore not protected by the provisions of the act.
Even though the state will not even be equipped to handle applications for these new licenses for another 10 months, cops and sheriffs are using the Facilities Act to to make felons out of everyday people that work in this industry.
