New details call into question the state of the nearly-new Lion Air aircraft that crashed into the sea, killing all 189 people on board. One day before Monday's Lion Air aircraft crash, the plane's pilot had made a so-called Pan-Pan call, an alert signal just one step below a Mayday. The aircraft was reportedly flying erratically, with unreliable airspeed and altitude readings.
