Hundreds took to social media on Monday night after a strange object appeared in the skies over New Jersey.
Appearing as a slow moving cigar-shaped object with a blue light at its center, this 'UFO' quickly caused quite a stir when residents of Bergen, Passaic and Essex counties spotted it in the sky.
Social media was soon inundated with photographs and videos showing people who had stopped their cars to get out and film the spectacle, with whole crowds standing around with their phones pointed towards the heavens.
In some places, entire streets had come to a standstill.
"I can't believe it," said one woman.
"Hey, it's a UFO, right ?" another witness could be heard saying on one of the clips.
On closer inspection however, the 'UFO' turned out to be little more than a Goodyear blimp that had been flying over a Giants game at the MetLife Stadium.
By zooming in on the object, it was even possible to see the Goodyear logo on the side.
The incident just goes to show how easily something mundane in the sky can be misinterpreted.
