Reality TV show will send winner up to the ISS

A new show called 'Space Hero' will see contestants vying for a trip up to the International Space Station.
Developed by production company Space Hero, Inc. in collaboration with Axiom Space, the new show will reportedly seek out wannabe astronauts from all over the world and offer them the chance to win an actual ten-day trip into space - a prize unlike anything ever offered by a TV show before.
It's unclear how the contestants will be chosen, however they will presumably need to be physically and mentally fit as well as willing to go through a rigorous and lengthy training process.
The actual winner will be picked, not by experts, but by the show's audience who will be given the opportunity to vote from all over the world for the contestant they'd like to see go into space.
The winner will then fly up to the International Space Station aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon before spending ten days living in special commercial crew quarters.
The mission is tentatively set to take place sometime in 2023.
As the space station ages, it is likely that commercial endeavours such as this will become increasingly commonplace and space tourism could also see a significant boost.
Eventually, it is not outside the realms of possibility that we could see dedicated space stations designed specifically for commercial ventures and recreational excursions.
Shows like Space Hero are likely to be only the beginning.
