The Silver Pharoah Mystery : Documentary³
This documentary explores the fascinating story of one of ancient Egypt’s forgotten Rulers – Pharaoh Psusennes I or as he was known at the time Akheperre Setepenamun.
Uncovered intact by Pierre Montet in 1940,the pharaoh’s mummy was encased in an extraordinary silver casket, unique in the history of Ancient Egypt.
The discovery was overshadowed by World War II, so now some historians have a bit of a muck about and take a fresh look at Psusennes’s remains in a bid to learn more about this old lad,and try to shed light on a murky period of Egyptian history.
Fun fact :- During his long reign, Psusennes I built the enclosure walls and the central part of the Great Temple at Tanis which was dedicated to the triad of Amun, Mut and Khonsu.
