Scandalized Sexting Teacher named Homeland Security Coordinator

The Department of Homeland Security continues to show that they continue to work with sexual deviants. On Monday of last week, a former South High School teacher in Colorado, Larisa Oringdulph, who engaged in sexting (texting about sex) with one of her students, was named South All-Hazards Regional Homeland Security Coordinator, a job that pays $48,000.
The Pueblo Chieftain reports:

Pueblo County Sheriff Kirk Taylor said Oringdulph’s hire was not a decision by his department, but by a commission made up of representatives from Pueblo, Custer, Huerfano, Fremont and Las Animas counties.
Taylor described the job as an annual contract position with the South All-Hazards Region and, essentially, a conduit for the federal homeland security funds that get passed through the state and into counties to be used for various projects.
“Eighty percent of the position is grant writing and 20 percent is operational,” Taylor said.
He said Oringdulph’s job will be to take the recommendations and a priority list created by the South Region and work with state officials to get the federal funds necessary to pay for those projects.

Sheriff Taylor says that all those on the board that hired Oringdulph knew her past before her hiring.
Oringdulph was involved in sexting and kissing a student at South High School. However, her sexting wasn’t just comprised of text.
The teacher sent fully nude self-photos of herself to the seventeen-year-old student, as well as several photos of her in her underwear to several male students, according to a video report by KRDO (seen below).

According to the school board’s policy, “Staff may not communicate with students through personal social media platforms or by texting without prior authorization from an administrator.”
KRDO added:

She also told police that she kissed a 17-year-old student outside a gym.
Oringdulph has declined to comment. Her husband told KRDO that she resigned for personal reasons.
Superintendent Lopez has not commented on whether she contacted the Department of Education on the matter. As for the Department of Education, it couldn’t confirm or deny whether an investigation is ongoing. A spokesperson added, however, that investigating whether a teacher should lose his/her license is a lengthy process.
Oringdulph was never formerly charged by police with a crime, but she did resign over the scandal. Her teaching license continues to be valid through 2017, and according to Michael Westword, “District 60 has taken no action to have it revoked, perhaps due to the wording of another district policy cited by the Chieftain.”
In my day, this woman would have been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor at the very least. Because the police viewed Oringdulph’s actions as unlawful and never charged her, it seems that local politicians and school board members were just fine with letting the entire incident fade away, considering that the teacher had resigned.
That was 2013. This is 2015 and we are now faced with a person taking a federal position, who is now understood to be one that knowingly preys upon minors and still has the potential to teach America’s children. With this new found authority, is anyone guessing that Mrs. Oringdulph will not be engaging in the same behavior, apart from any true repentance on her part? I’m guessing not.
The Pueblo Sheriff’s Department told Freedom Outpost that they do have laws that deal with those that contribute to the delinquency of a minor, but that would have been the jurisdiction of the Pueblo Police Department.
Sgt. Gonzalez of the Pueblo Police Department told me that Oringdulph was never arrested, but was investigated and the district attorney never brought charges against her. When questioned as to whether or not the officer would perform an arrest on an adult providing pornography to a minor, we were told that a report would be written up, and investigation performed and then the district attorney would have the final say as to whether or not there would be an arrest.
Calls to the District Attorney’s Office have not been returned as of the writing of this article.

In 2014, 54-year-old George Hristovski, an Inspector at the US Department of Homeland Security, was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in California after he solicited a mother and her 13-year-old daughter for sexually explicit pictures on several occasions via Craigslist.
Former head of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano also came under fire and had a discrimination lawsuit filed against her as a male employee claimed that she had presided over a female “fraternity house”-style department which routinely humiliated males.

Speaks volumes to me as to the mindset of the ones that are placed into a power position. This is the crux of what needs to be changed. They may as well just go through the police blotters and select the biggest pedophiles and offenders and take the guess work out of it. I mean really! WTF? This person should not be a position of power whatsoever from my pov.

Seriously though folks, there seems to have been a number of such revelations over recent years. This at least on the surface appears to be more people so inclined being able to indulge (and trap themselves) with technology.

Although it is some decades since I was in school with a handful of buddies transfixed at the latest stand in female teacher aged between 25-35 who was known for dressing a certain way. And occasionally delivered an unexpected visual treat that they always managed to look accidental.

Even as mid/late teens we knew full well this was about self esteem and needing to be "appreciated", a captive audience in that environment meant this could only occur to a point and yes, a few of the girls told their parents which meant these stand in teachers simply got circulated elsewhere.

My point is this, like anything else in life all that has changed in human behaviour is technology so if mobile phones had been around at that time I do believe some would have been tempted to do exactly this. I am not condoning this by the way, just offering an opinion. As teenage lads we quite enjoyed the occasional brightening of incredibly dull days although such occasions were in all honestly quite rare.

The advance of this technology encourages adults who are incapable of thinking beyond the next five minutes to indulge themselves. It allows them to let everyone know who they are and what they are doing, it is in fact a great tool for filtering these people if parents keep a check on kids and those in charge took it more seriously. This aspect of human behaviour is unlikely to end but while they do such silly things and leave electronic traces is it easier to know who they are than it ever was previously.

There are many people qualified for these positions. Why would you hire a person that has this in their background to begin with? Considering the age of technology and all? This made the news. Doesn't the Office of Homeland Security do background checks on who they hire? Or are they to busy checking on citizens. It is messed up when you think about that.

I dont know about this one bs.....Sending nude photos to a student, a high school-er no less.....Im not sure what is more alarming, her doing it without repercussion, or your defense of her.....Ahhhhh....just a sign of the times I suppose....

Well I went to an all girls school with nuns so no such behavior there! 

This sort of behavior is gross and she should not be in a teaching position or anywhere near kids to be honest! I don't think bs was defending her tho topspin but more stating a point that these types of people have always been there its just that technology has made it easier for them to be creepy assholes! I mean without technology this would not have happened or certainly would not have been made public as easily as it was!

It may be my writing style or a transatlantic mis translation in the way we interpret things, please be assured I was not defending this at all. What I was attempting to highlight was these people are giving themselves away BECAUSE they have this technology. About two years ago in Cornwall at pre school nursery was closed down because one of the married staff got herself involved with a man looking for images of kids, he gave her the usual you are special routine and she played along for the attention. Because of the use of mobile phones and the stupidity of one of those involved knowledge of this quickly got out, they were all arrested in short order. That can only be a good thing coming out of evil intent right?

Another example here was the singer of a band called Lost Prophets, he was lost alright, not only did his phone lead back to him he was so stupid he typed his "requests" in online chats which were screencapped. All technology can be used for the wrong reasons TS, what I was saying is quite simply it exposes these people where as before they could have gone on offending for a long time before being caught....if at all. May they long continue to make themselves known to Police at the earliest opportunity.

On a personal level I am quite surprised you choose to think I endorse such actions, If that is the impression I give out then I will refrain from passing comment in future, my thoughts about these people who abuse kids or others that cannot fight back are not fit for print. You are quite right, assuming the worse of someone without checking is a sign of the times
