Two powerful M6.1 earthquakes hit Papua New Guinea and Mid-Atlantic Ridge simultaneously on June 21, 2016

The northern mid-Atlantic ridge was struck by a strong earthquake at 16:26:35 (UTC). The epicenter was at a depth of 10.0 km (6.2 mi) and situated 1807.0 km (1122.8 mi) ENE of Grande Anse, Guadeloupe or 1846.0 km (1147.1 mi) ENE of Saint John’s, Antigua and Barbuda. So this earthquake struck right in the middle of nowhere!

40 minutes later, at 17:12 (UTC), another powerful quake hit 67km WNW of Namatanai, Papua New Guinea at a depth of 366.4 km (227.7 mi). There is no tsunami dangers, although the epicenter of this strong quake was located off populated areas.

Two powerful M6.1 earthquakes hit Papua New Guinea and Mid-Atlantic Ridge almost simultaneously on June 21, 2016.
The first one hit the Northern Mid-Atlantic Ridge at 16:30 (UTC), while the second quake struck Papua New Guinea at 17:10 (UTC)… Almost together!
