I used to love the NBA and Susie turned me on to Soccer but when it becomes the definition of who I am it's gone a bit far. How many people do we encounter every day with clothing with a sports team number on it. They are not people, they are merely numbers of who they want to be.
Susie and I used to watch the Prisoner on DVD's without realizing it was not fiction but our reality.
Yesterday TPTW had to grease the light poles in Philly to prevent morons from climbing them and destroying them. Will these abject morons as they wake up with their hangover's and stumble to their 40 plus hours of slavery be proud of the broken windows and other damage they created as they worshiped their NUMBER ONE CHAMPIONS?
TPTW have reduced flesh, blood, mind, soul and spirit to mere numbers. But TPTW have become mere numbers also clawing and murdering each other to get to NUMBER ONE.
We follow "grown ups" who toss a ball around for large numbers of cash. They are nothing more than gladiators in numbered shirts and we follow their numbers (stats) like it is a religious practice all the while being (for the most part) unable to read and comprehend anything that doesn't have a score. WE MUST BE TOLD THE SCORE, because we are incapable of reason. We are told what to think, do and say.
We follow the top 10 or top 40 of vapid "music". We all want to be Numero Uno. We follow the "numbers" in the stock market as if that were in any way reality. We follow the "numbers" in all sorts of polls and believe the BS of the "numbers".
The beauty and majesty of numbers in math, music, etc that brought us a greater understanding out our world has been turned upside down and we are nothing but a number. A social security number, a pin number, an employee number and oh yeah that big number on my green sweatshirt that defines me, hahaha.
As Patrick McGooan said and Susie and I believed "I am not a number, I am a man".
