TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS IS A TRIED AND TRUE WAY TO ENTER INTO SOME WRITINGS, AND I WAS SORELY TEMPTED. I DID WRITE THREE OPENING LINES FOR THREE DIFFERENT STORIES.

It was not an uncomfortable night, but he stuffed some more newspapers into his 7 year old’s jacket, puffy from many layers as it was. The last few weeks the weather had turned and it was getting chilly to the bone.

They walked out of the mall as it closed, and set themselves to brave the night. Snow twinkled on the ground and silent rainbows of Christmas lights reflected off the new fallen dusting.

The ground shook again and he knew the active mouth of a steaming mountain on the island had reached its blow point. He gathered the children and told them to pack up and leave the lean-to shelter they had lived in so many years and maybe escape the breath of death. The aid did not come.

EACH ONE HAD POTENTIAL TO TELL A CHRISTMAS STORY, BUT FOR SOME REASON IT JUST WAS NOT QUITE RIGHT. I JUST DECIDED TO DO A POEM TO THE SPIRIT AND WISH EVERYBODY A MERRY CHRISTMAS THAT WAY.

ON ANOTHER REFLECTION, EVERY CHRISTMAS WE HAVE COME TO, HAS COME AND GONE WITHOUT THE PROMISED RELIEF BOTH ON A GLOBAL AND ON A PERSONAL SCALE. THE LAST COUPLE OF DECADES HAS NOT BEEN MUCH FUN, BUT THEY HAD BRIGHT SPOTS, AND MOSTLY AT CHRISTMAS. WE MANAGED TO GET THROUGH EACH TIME AND WITH HOPE GLEAMING FOR THE NEW YEAR, WE STRUGGLED TO MAKE IT ALL WORK.

THOSE YEARS PAST HAVE BEEN TOUGH, BUT HERE WE ARE AGAIN AND THIS TIME, WE KNOW THERE IS NOTHING AGAIN FOR CHRISTMAS FROM THE GLOBAL STUFF, BUT WE KNOW IT IS THERE WAITING FOR US AND AFTER THE HOLIDAYS IT WILL HAPPEN. IF IT HAPPENS IN THE NEXT 2 DAYS OF BANKING AVAILABLE, IT SURE WOULD BE A NICE CHRISTMAS PRESENT.

OUR FUNDING TRUST IS ACTIVE OVER CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS SO WE WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE RELEASE PROCESS OVER THE NEXT WEEK THIS IS THE START OF THE PROJECT SIDE ALONG WITH THE SISTER ORGANIZATIONS WORLDWIDE THAT ARE DOING SIMILAR THINGS. WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE HERE AND THAT HAS ALWAYS BEEN A BIG RELIEF. WITH MULTIPLICITY, YOU CAN BE ASSURED THE JOB WILL GET DONE.

SO OUR TEAM HAS HUNKERED DOWN FOR THE HOLIDAYS AND ARE DOING THE BEST THEY CAN UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCE, AND WE WILL EMERGE AFTER THE HOLIDAYS TO BEGIN THE WORK AHEAD OF US ALL.

IN THE MEANTIME, MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY! HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME AND GO HUG EVERYBODY AND WISH THEM A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS. HELP SOMEBODY TOO.

Musings of years spent meandering through life
Shadow the mind with Christmases past
Some good some different all had their time
None were meant to last

A reminder each year, a time to reflect
The glorious embrace of this joyful Spirit
Weaving gold tapestry throughout each thought
That illustrates and remembers our closeness with It

We cherish family and wish the world the best
Our inner spirit unlocks the bounty stored
The day brightens fast in that ultimate sincerity
With gladness wrought hard from that hole in a void

The celebration tradition is the key to the lock
Of a stream of feeling so true
That transcends all barriers both small and impossible
Without choice it passes through all and makes it all new

The Spirit of Christmas is here tangible and steady
Its life throb reflected in faces in many styles
It gladdens the heart to see so much Joy
Glowing, growing, manifesting large smiles

In this Spirit I write to you my brother and sister
I wish to you Peace and Great Joy
The Christmas Season is a blessed thing
Given to us by moms, dads and that special toy

Give time to your children, your mother your aunt
Have Christmas dinner with all gathered round
Inviting the Spirit to touch gently each soul
With compassion brimming eyes all so profound

Be well and be merry and do have much Fun
Basking in firewood crackling in night
Sipping a muggy of spice or handing out presents
Making this Christmas one made of Light
