Kevin Annett of the Republican movement in Canada is joined by his father Bill in a heartfelt remembrance of the murder of Bill's oldest brother Bob by the British Admiralty during World War Two. Bob Annett and over 100 other Canadian sailors of the torpedoed HMCS Athabaskan were left to drown in the English Channel after the Admiralty cancelled the rescue mission, and then covered up their crime and probable "friendly fire" sinking of Athabaskan. The murderous legacy of Empire and the need for an end to monarchy is discussed. This discussion is based on the book "The Sacrifice: Of Family and Empire" written jointly by Bill and Kevin Annett, found at https://www.amazon.com/dp/1727005961 . Posted 29 December, 2019.
