The Rendlesham UFO - a nuclear connection ?

Could the objects witnessed by military personnel at RAF Bentwaters in 1980 have been there for the nukes ?
There have been several major UFO cases involving military bases over the decades, but few are as well documented and widely discussed as the UK's infamous Rendlesham incident.
One documentary however - UFOs and Nukes: The Secret Link Revealed - has taken a slightly different approach to the mystery by focusing on the connection between the appearance of the anomalous objects witnessed at the time and the fact that the base was home to nuclear weapons.
There are several key witnesses including Lt Colonel Charles Halt - who has often spoken out about what he saw - and radar operators Ike Barker and Jim Carey who reported that at least one mystery object, whatever it was, had flown over the base.
The strangeness began on December 26th, 1980 when US servicemen stationed at RAF Woodbridge witnessed an unknown object descending into the woods. Upon investigating, they encountered a glowing metallic object which seemed to move through the trees as they approached. When they returned the next day, they found three triangular impressions in the ground at the same spot.
On December 28th the object appeared a second time, prompting deputy base commander Lt Col Charles Halt and a group of servicemen to venture out into the woods to investigate.
"Our security team observed a light that looked like a large eye, red in color, moving through the trees," Halt said. "After a few minutes this object began dripping something that looked like molten metal. A short while later it broke into several smaller, white objects which flew away in all directions."
According to witnesses, one 'basketball-shaped' object managed to cover '120 miles in under 8 seconds' and exhibited seemingly impossible levels of maneuverability in the sky.
Of particular interest to documentary producer and UFO researcher Robert Hastings was the fact that the objects seemed to have been demonstrating a keen interest in the base's nuclear arsenal.
There have been several other UFO incidents involving nuclear-armed military bases in the US.
Could someone from another world have been trying to communicate a message to mankind regarding the wisdom of nuclear warfare ?
