El Paso police are advising the public to stay away from a local Walmart because of an active shooter.
A local NBC affiliate, KTSM-TV, is reporting that at least 18 people were shot, though the extent of their injuries is uknown.
‘Active Shooting Stay away from Cielo Vista Mall Area. Scene is Still Active,’ the police department tweeted on Saturday.
Earlier on Saturday, the police tweeted: ‘Active Shooter in area of Hawkins and Gateway East.’
Hawkins and Gateway are two streets that flank the Walmart. El Paso police later confirmed that the active shooter was inside a Walmart, according to USA Today.
At least three other businesses in the area are also on lockdown, including a Red Lobster franchise and a Hooter’s location, CNN is reporting.

AT least 29 people have died in two US mass shootings in just 12 hours.
Twisted gunman Patrick Crusius used an AK47-type weapon to gun down parents and kids in a packed Walmart in El Paso, Texas, yesterday.
The 21-year-old, who posted a horrifying anti-Mexican manifesto just 20 minutes before storming the store, killed 20 people after mowing down those inside aisle-by-aisle.
A further 26 people were injured in what has become the deadliest mass shooting of 2019.

And just 12 hours later, a gunman wearing body armour opened fire in an Ohio bar, killing nine people.
Cops, who killed the shooter at the scene in Dayton, say the suspect used a high-powered rifle to fire on innocent revellers enjoying a Saturday night out at 1am.
In a press conference, Mayor Nan Whaley said: “The gunman was wearing body armour and a had a 223 calibre high capacity magazines and extra magazines.”

The mass shooter in Dayton, Ohio was identified by police.
The suspect, Connor Betts, was shot dead by police but not before he killed nine innocent people.

WBNS 10 reported:

The suspect in the Dayton shooting early Saturday morning where nine people were killed has been identified as a 24-year-old man.

Law enforcement sources told CBS News the shooter was identified as 24-year-old Connor Betts, of Bellbrook, Ohio. The sources said police were searching his home Sunday morning. Police said the suspect was shot and killed by officers in less than one minute.
